Independent concept

This self-initiated study is not presented as a commissioned or launched client project. It demonstrates how Cordanya would frame the problem, make product decisions, and define what success should mean before development begins.

01

The problem

Job details, team updates, and customer notes were spread across messages and spreadsheets, making handoffs slow and status hard to trust.

02

The design response

A purpose-built operations dashboard centralizes schedules, job status, ownership, and field updates without adding unnecessary complexity.

03

Success criteria

A successful direction would make ownership and next actions visible at a glance, reducing status chasing without adding heavy administrative work.

Context and constraints

What shaped the direction.

Intended audience

Dispatchers, operations leads, and field technicians who need the same job status without relying on message threads or spreadsheet checks.

Design considerations

  • Support quick scanning in the office and clear updates from smaller screens in the field.
  • Make the source and timing of every status change understandable enough for the team to trust it.
  • Introduce a shared workflow without requiring the business to replace every existing tool at once.

Key decisions

01

Define status as a shared language

A small set of clear stages gives office and field teams the same answer to what happens next.

02

Keep one durable job record

Schedule, owner, notes, and recent updates stay together so handoffs do not depend on message history.

03

Surface exceptions first

Blocked, overdue, and unassigned work is separated from healthy jobs so attention goes where it is useful.

Success signals

What the real version would measure.

These are validation targets for a future launch, not reported results from this independent concept.

  • Signal 01

Time needed to confirm a job's current status

  • Signal 02

Jobs without a clear owner or next action

  • Signal 03

Internal messages sent only to request an update

  • Signal 04

Delay between a field update and office visibility
